type 2

This is an intermediate size Irish bouzouki or cittern. The body is the same length as the type 1, but with a small upper bout for more bass response and a waist so it sits on the leg more comfortably.

In many ways this is the most versatile model, still with the bright punch of the type1, with more warmth in the lower register.

It can be built with either an eight or ten string neck, with standard scale lengths of 560 and 660mm (22" and 26") It is available with either a flat soundboard with a guitar style pin bridge, or a carved arched soundboard with a moveable bridge. The picture is a 26 " scale flat-top bouzouki, Non-standard scale lengths are available on request.

The body of this instrument is Tulip Satinwood from Australia. The hybrid X-lattice bracing is used on all flat-top instruments

Necks are bolted on.
